Detroit – A Saudi man was arrested at an airport in Detroit after traveling with a pressure cooker. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Hussain Al Khawahir, was arrested Saturday at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport after federal agents alleged he lied about his reason for traveling with the cooking device, and also had a page missing from his passport.

Nasser Almarzooq, the nephew of Al Khawahir, says he requested that his uncle bring him the device and attributed the incident to a misunderstanding. He is quoted by the AP as stating, “I’m Arabic… I always use pressure cookers to cook.”

Almarzooq said his uncle was traveling to visit him for a couple of weeks.
