Los Angeles – Singer Chris Brown has been charged with a hit-and-run in connection with an accident that occurred last month. As reported by Reuters, Brown, who is currently on probation for assaulting his former girlfriend, was charged this week with two misdemeanors, driving without a license and a hit-and-run, each for which he faces up to six months in jail.
The singer, 24, is stated to have rear-ended a vehicle in the May 21 accident, which occurred in Los Angeles.
Brown, who referred to the charges as “ridiculous” on Twitter, is quoted as posting on the social media site, “It’s not a hit and run if u get out the car, exchange information (who has NO DAMAGE to either cars). This is really ridiculous.”
According to L.A. City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan, Brown is set to be arraigned in Los Angeles Superior Court on July 15.
