Nevada – A fatal Lake Tahoe plane crash that left a 67-year-old man dead is under investigation. As reported by the Examiner, the crash occurred on Monday killing Steven Lefton and leaving his wife Karen injured.
A fuel leak occurred following the crash, which investigators are still trying to determine the cause of.
Lt. Pete Van Arnum, spokesman for El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, is quoted in the report as stating of the plane, “Several witnesses at the airport saw it take off and start banking and losing altitude… It had difficulty getting lift.”
Investigations into the exact cause of the crash are underway. The pilot was stated to have had more than 20 years of flying experience.
