New York – The Tesla Motors Model S electric car has earned the highest possible crash test rating according to the manufacturer, as reported by CNN Money. The company stated days following the announcement of the test results that the crash test scores were the highest of “any car ever tested.”
Tesla is quoted by CNN Money as saying in a statement, “Of all vehicles tested, including every major make and model approved for sale in the United States, the Model S set a new record for the lowest likelihood of injury to occupant.”
As noted in the report, the five-star rating system of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is similar in operation to grading scales used in classrooms, meaning As equal any score above 90.
