Texas – A Texas mother fatally shot her family before turning the gun on herself in their home. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Navarro County Sheriff Elmer Tanner announced Tuesday that the crime had taken place last week.
Guadalupe Ronquillo-Ovalle, 33, shot her husband and three sons, ages 4, 8, and 10, prior to shooting herself in the head. Their bodies were discovered by the father of her husband.
Ronquillo-Ovalle’s husband Israel Alvarez, had reportedly been charged with misdemeanor family violence two weeks prior. He was released after spending two days in jail and paying a $367 fine according to court records.
Tanner is quoted by the AP as stating that not much could be determined from the arrest, “other than that was an isolated incident involving family violence.”
Investigators are still trying to determine what led to the killings.
