Montana – A man who was shot by his son over a drug debt has been sentenced to 12 years in prison. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Walter Jack White was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Donald Molloy Monday to nine years for possession of meth for distribution and three-and-a-half years on weapons charges.

Molloy is quoted by the AP as stating, “He ended up getting shot by his son… Thirty two-and-a-half pounds of methamphetamine coupled with guns and violence is as about as serious as you can get.”

White’s son, Brandon White, was charged with assault with a weapon in connection with the shooting, which reportedly occurred in January. Walter White was arrested in March after methamphetamine was found at his residence during an investigation into the shooting. Several other arrests also arose from the shooting investigation, as noted in the report.
