St. Louis – A company has filed a lawsuit alleging it has yet to be paid in full for turf installed at the venue where this year’s Super Bowl game will take place. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Taylor Turf Installation Inc. filed the suit against the operators of the MetLife Stadium and the company it was hired by claiming a $292,000 balance is owed to them for the installation project.
The St. Louis based company filed the lawsuit in New Jersey’s Bergen County Superior Court naming New Meadowlands Stadium Co. LLC and Dalton, Ga.-based Turf Industry Inc., doing business as UBU Sports as defendants.
Taylor’s president, Kelly Taylor, says that the company was paid $125,000 early in the project, but not the remainder of the $417,000 owed. Taylor is quoted as stating, “All along, (chief contractor UBU Sports) kept saying, ‘The payment’s coming, but keep on working… There should have been red flags from the beginning. At some point we should have stopped.”
Taylor is further quoted as stating of the matter, “It’s just a frustrating situation.”
