South Dakota – Evidence suggest that two teenage girls whose disappearance over four decades ago in South Dakota has long remained a mystery, died in a car crash. As reported by Reuters, remains found in the vehicle that Cheryl Miller and Pamela Jackson were traveling to a party in in 1971, have been identified as those of the girls, who were both 17 at the time they went missing.
The 1960 Studebaker was found last year, and remains from the vehicle were recovered and tested. The results were stated to be “consistent with a car accident.”
South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley is quoted by Reuters as stating during a news conference, “There is no type of injury that would be consistent of or caused by foul play or inappropriate conduct.”
The disappearance of the girls had previously been investigated as a crime.
