Los Angeles – Brad Pitt was allegedly assaulted at a recent film premiere in Hollywood. As reported by Yahoo! Celebrity, the attack occurred while Pitt was walking the red carpet with fiancé Angelina Jolie at the premiere of her new film “Maleficent.”
A Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson is quoted in the report as stating of the attack, “Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were signing autographs when a man jumped over the barrier and struck Mr. Pitt in the face.”
The man, identified by authorities as Vitalii Sediuk, was reportedly wrestled to the ground by security at the event and detained until police arrived. He was charged with misdemeanor battery.
A statement was subsequently released by Sediuk’s attorney, Anthony Willoughby to Yahoo stating, “Mr. Sediuk is presently charged with battery. He is not guilty of the charged offense. Law enforcement overreact when celebrities are concerned. This case is further evidence of this mindset.”
