San Francisco – A new feature has been added to Square Cash that allows people to send money by texting. As reported by WebProNews, Square, Inc. announced Tuesday that an update to the mobile app versions (Android and iOS) had been made.
The company is quoted as stating of the new addition, “The update adds the ability to simply send or request money from everyone in your address book using just their phone number (or e-mail address), even if the recipient doesn’t have the app.
“Cash also features a refreshed design, the ability to keep track of payments and requests via push notification, and a new Profile feature for linking all of your email addresses and phone numbers to your account.”
Square says hundreds of millions dollars have been sent and received using Square Cash since it was launched last year.
