Thailand – A woman who died after throwing herself into a crocodile pond reportedly committed suicide. As reported by the UK Daily Mail, the elderly woman was attacked by dozens of reptiles during the incident, as zoo keepers made an attempt to ward them off.
More than 1,000 crocodiles were in the pit that Wanpen Inyai, 65, jumped into. Her sister, Sunan Tharmna, said that Inyai had suffered from depression and had not communicated with anyone in the days prior to her death.
Video footage reportedly shows the woman jumping into the Samut Prakarn Crocodile Farm & Zoo pit after placing her shoes on a walkway.
DNA tests later confirmed Inyai’s identity.
