The Great American Bus Interactive Education (G.A.B.I.E.) Company delivers field trips tailored to grade levels kindergarten through eighth grade right to your door.  The Gabie bus, owned by field trip professional Ron Totarsky, travels Florida bringing interactive education specific to Florida’s environment, geology, history, agriculture and industry to your school.

The Florida G.A.B.I.E. Bus has interactive exhibits and videos to help the kids learn how their environment is interlinked with their lives—past and present—and learn about their environmentally conscious place in it.  Designed to be a physical and digital interactive classrooms that comes right to you, the bus is equipped with twelve hands-on learning stations located both in and outside of the bus.  Kids can see, touch, read about and watch short TV information clips about local Florida agricultural products and their history as it interweaves with Florida agricultural enterprise and history.  They can even grind their own wheat into flower, grow plants, and make whipped cream.

The G.A.B.I.E. bus also focuses on the entrepreneurial history of the United States, and particularly as it relates to agriculture, demonstrating with hands-on tactics how the world surrounding us has and continues to influence the past and present development of our country and society.  Starting off with a basic field trip curriculum for kindergarten classes, by the eighth grade G.A.B.I.E. field trippers will learn over 600 Florida State Department of Education standards in an interactive and engaging manner.  Science, math, social studies, cognitive thinking, reading, and even career exploration are covered in your classroom’s G.A.B.I.E. bus field trip experience as part of an integrated system that relates directly back to your students’ lives, geography, and environment.

G.A.B.I.E. field trips have a green living focus, encouraging healthy agricultural practices and recycling.  One field trip option is to have the Florida G.A.B.I.E. bus come to your school and help you set up a garden right at your school.  Students start off planting lettuce, cucumber, and radish seeds in their milk cartons recycled from lunch that they clean out and decorate.  After the 45-day growth period, your class can enjoy a healthy, homegrown meal made right in their school.

Pre-assessments and post-assessments on student learning and comprehension before and after their G.A.B.I.E. bus learning field trip continues to show that students learn and retain what they’ve learned from their time on this bus.  Data has also been collected proving that students learn about the agriculture of Florida as well.  G.A.B.I.E. has also been honored and endorsed by the Senate and House of Representatives as well as by the Governor of Georgia where the project began.  Alongside learning about the geology, history, science, and industry of Florida’s agriculture, students are also empowered to eat healthy and grow their own food, and gain exposure to a green way of life.

The Florida G.A.B.I.E. bus is an easy and affordable field trip option.  The bus comes right to you and only costs $7 per student.  For Title 1 schools the price is $5 per student.  Teachers and administrator attendance is always free.  You can work a G.A.B.I.E. bus visit into your class curriculum alongside your science, history, or social studies lesson plans to diversify your students’ learning experience.

To book your field trip and learn more about the Florida G.A.B.I.E. bus, call Ron Totarsky at 954-383-2604 or email at gabiefl1@aol.com.
