Los Angeles – Amanda Bynes was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold following a series of media reports about her peculiar behavior. As reported by WebProNews, the hospitalization and a psychiatric 5150 hold was arranged by the actress’ parents after she began making allegations on Twitter that she had been abused by her father.
According to TMZ, the hold could be extended for up to two weeks. Bynes had been staying with her parents until a court-ordered conservatorship expired. She was recently arrested for a DUI and accused of stealing a hat from Barneys department store in New York.
Bynes’ mother released a statement to E! regarding the allegations made against her husband by her daughter, “I am heartbroken today for my husband of 47 years. Rick has been the best father and husband a family can ask for. He has never abused Amanda or our other children physically or sexually.”
