The Ford F-150 has taken home the Hottest Truck award at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas for four years in a row, and with custom tuners using an all-new 2015 model as their base this year, the pickup truck has a leg up on its competition once again. Conceptualized by Brian Deegan of Ford Racing and Formula DRIFT superstar Vaughn Gittin Jr., two aggressively altered versions of the 2015 Ford F-150 are set to turn heads at the 2014 SEMA Show next month.

A number of tuner companies had their hands in the creation of the off-road-racing-inspired “Deegan 38” F-150, including Addictive Desert Designs, FOX Racing Shox, Full-Race Motorsports, KC Hilites, Leading Edge Tuning, Mastercraft Safety, Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels, ProEFI, Rockford Fosgate and SCT Performance. Powering the tricked-out truck through extreme conditions will be the production-spec 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, which produces 365 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. On the other hand, the Vaughn Gittin Jr. street truck boasts aftermarket additions like an Air Lift Performance air-ride system, a Kibbetech custom suspension that provides 12 inches of King shock-controlled travel and Recaro seats inside the cabin.

“The customized F-150s headed to this year’s SEMA Show are bolder and more athletic than ever before, and that’s partially because the tuners are starting with a more aggressive design and a lighter-weight body with the all-new 2015 production model,” said John Crowley, general manager of AutoFair Ford, a New Hampshire Ford dealer in Manchester. “While the SEMA models won’t be available for purchase, buyers will still be getting an incredible range of capability when the 2015 F-150 arrives at our dealership late this year.”

Featuring an aluminum-alloy body and a high-strength-steel frame, the 2015 Ford F-150 weighs up to 700 pounds less than its predecessor depending on the model, yet it can tow up to 1,100 more pounds and haul as much as 530 more pounds. Gas mileage is also expected to increase by 5 to 20 percent compared to 2014 models, with a newly available 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 offering fuel-saving Auto Start-Stop technology while churning out 325 horsepower and 375 pound-feet of torque.
