U.S. – Major toy retailer Toys ‘R’ Us is set to open on Thanksgiving. As reported by TIME magazine, the retailer joins the lot of other big name stores that are choosing to open early for the Black Friday weekend.
A number of retailers are reportedly choosing to open on the holiday in response to the growing number of shoppers who elect to shop online using Thanksgiving Day deals.
Chief Merchandising Officer Richard Barry is quoted as stating to Fortune, “We had incredibly positive feedback with customers who shopped with us on Thanksgiving last year.”
As noted in the report, Toys ‘R’ Us reportedly generated $12.5 billion in sales in the last fiscal year.
