Los Angeles – A contestant who previously appeared on “America’s Next Top Model: All Stars” has filed a lawsuit against show creator Tyra Banks and others after being denied prize money over her past history as an escort. As reported by The Los Angeles Times, Cycle 17 contestant Angelea Preston is seeking $3 million in damages in the suit, which alleges there was a breach of contract after she was disqualified as the show’s winner in 2011.
During the finale, which aired on Dec. 7, 2011, photographer and judge Nigel Barker made the announcement, “After shooting was wrapped, our production team learned information from Angelea that disqualifies her from the competition” prior to Lisa D’Amato being named the winner. As the winner, D’Amato received a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl an other prizes.
Preston also alleges in the lawsuit that models were not compensated for overtime work or provided rest periods while the show was being taped.
