Memphis, TN – The first recording made by iconic singer Elvis Presley recently sold at an auction for $300,000. As reported by WebProNews, the record titled “My Happiness” was left in the home of Presley’s friend, Ed Leek, for 60 years after being recorded at Sun Records in Memphis in 1953.

The record, which is rumored to have been recorded for Presley’s mother, is stated to still be in good condition.

Leek’s niece, Lorisa Hilburn, inherited the recording following her uncle’s death. The record was auctioned off along with other Elvis Presley memorabilia on what would have been his 80th birthday.

Hilburn is quoted as having said prior to the auction, “I’m hoping that somebody who loves Elvis Presley and is a huge Elvis Presley fan and who can appreciate the record … ends up with it.”
