Mackin Educational Resources, the industry leader and global distributor of print and digital media to PK-12 schools and libraries, announced a record number of new PK-12 digital partnerships in the U.S. and abroad in 2014. As of January 1, 2015, MackinVIA’s global digital reach spanned to 49 countries for a total of over 17,000 schools and districts (a 39% increase over the same time period last year).

With roots firmly planted in supplying educational resources, Mackin has spent more than three decades perfecting their service by providing print, and most recently, digital resources to the PK-12 school market. In a few short years, they have grown their digital catalog to nearly 350,000 PK-12 age-appropriate titles in eBook, audiobook and database formats. The print side of their business remains vibrant and offers access to more than 2.5 million titles.

Mackin’s long-standing relationship with nearly 18,000 publishers has fueled their ongoing success. Notable digital publisher additions to the list of featured providers in their catalog in 2014 included Hachette, Sourcebooks, Corwin, Benchmark Ed and HarperCollins to name a few.  Most recently, all Dr Seuss eBooks and the entire Perseus Books Group became part of Mackin’s offerings.

All digital titles are accessed through the company’s free digital resource management system, MackinVIA, and are compatible with every major mobile device as well as desktop computers. Audiobook availability has increased 34% over the past 12 months with more than 42,000 titles available to school partners through MackinVIA. 

A rapidly growing number of students and educators are accessing MackinVIA and its rich body of content now more than ever. Districts see first-hand how their students have become empowered with each school’s digital content available 24/7. The numbers substantiate this claim. In the second half of 2014 alone, MackinVIA recorded an incredible 16.5 million page views showing the depth and continued utilization of this preferred platform by schools around the world. Since MackinVIA’s inception, new customer numbers have increased creating a sharp trajectory that has noted growth ranges from 60% to 150% annually.
