Jeannette – A teenager charged in the killing of a classmate reportedly took a selfie with the body of the victim. As reported by TribLive.com, courts records show Maxwell Marion Morton, 16 took a picture with the body of 16-year-old Ryan Mangan, who had been shot in the face.
Morton, who is being held without bail at the Westmoreland County juvenile detention center, has been charged with first-degree murder, homicide and possession of a firearm by a minor.
County District Attorney John Peck is quoted in the report as stating of the photo, “I’ve never seen it before… but it was a key piece of evidence that led investigators to the defendant.”
Morton has been charged as an adult. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Feb. 19.
