Palm Beach – Rapper turned home renovator rel=’nofollow’ href=”http://www.webpronews.com/vanilla-ice-will-avoid-jail-by-building-houses-which-he-already-does-2015-04″ target=”_blank” alt=”Vanilla Ice”>Vanilla Ice has been ordered to perform community service as part of a plea deal in a vandalism case. As reported by WebProNews, Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Rob Van Winkle, was arrested in February after he allegedly took furniture and other items without permission from a home near another house he was doing renovations on. Van Winkle hosts the reality TV show “The Vanilla Ice Project” and also owns a renovation company.
Van Winkle initially claimed he had purchased the home he was accused of vandalizing, but the claim proved to be false. In addition to being required to perform 100 hours of community service, he also has been ordered to pay restitution to the estate of the deceased homeowner for over $1,100.
Van Winkle is quoted in the report as stating of the case, “I’m happy to get this resolved… I never had any criminal intent. It’s just unfortunate, but here we are. I’m moving forward.”
The television personality said he will be performing his community service with Habit for Humanity.
He further stated of his plea deal, “I’m going to do what I do anyway… This is an easy thing. It’s like asking the Pope to pray.”
