Hallmark Institute of Photography announces new photography school scholarships for students who want to become professional photographers. Hallmark will award three $15,000 Presidential Scholarships for the Class of 2016, which begins in September 2015.
“These scholarships represent a great opportunity for the candidate who is passionate about pursuing a career in professional photography,” said Andy Vecellio, vice president of enrollment at the photography school. “We are looking for students who will make significant and lasting contributions to our Hallmark community and who will represent our program well after graduation with continued influence in the photographic marketplace.”
Hallmark offers an intensive, 10-month residential program in professional photography and imaging arts designed to prepare students to open their own photographic business or to fill entry-level positions in the diverse and competitive digital photography and videography industry. The curriculum addresses both the art and business of digital imaging. Students gain real-world experience under the tutelage of resident faculty members who are full-time professionals in the photography field. Students at Hallmark also learn from guest lecturers representing all corners of the photographic industry.
The Presidential Scholarship will be awarded based on need, along with the submission of a personal essay and the applicant’s admission interview. Applicants must meet all qualifications for school enrollment, including proof of high school graduation, receive acceptance and be enrolled in Hallmark Institute of Photography’s Professional Photography Program with the class start date of Sept. 9, 2015. Additional eligibility is determined by the student’s EFC number as reported by the Free Application For Federal Student Aid.
Deadline for submission is July 31, 2015. Presidential Scholarship award winners will be notified no later than Aug. 15, 2015. For more information, call 413-863-2478 or visit hallmark.edu/scholarship/.
