New York Route 60 SUV crash leaves driver dead and 2 seriously injured.

New York, NY(JusticeNewsFlash.com)–An upstate New York SUV driver who died in a Tuesday wreck with a tractor-trailer was identified. The head-on SUV crash killed one and injured two in Chautauqua County. The Observer reports the fatal SUV accident took place around 4:30 p.m. New York State Police highway fatality accident investigators say 65 year-old, Donald F. Lines of Jamestown, New York was driving a GMC Envoy SUV southbound on Route 60 when the fatal automobile accident occurred. Lines’ SUV crossed the center line into northbound Route 60 traffic. A Kenworth tractor-trailer truck, driven by 37 year-old, Roberto Vasquez of Laredo, Texas, attempted to avoid the oncoming SUV by moving onto the shoulder of the road. The 18 wheeler’s driver side, drive axle, and trailer were struck by the SUV. Vasquez and his semi-truck landed in a ditch.

Cassadaga area fire rescue crews claimed Vasquez attempted to avoid the head-on SUV collision. The truck was damaged with a broken suspension, and the tractor-trailer tires were left flat. Vasquez was transported by Western New York area emergency medical services (EMS) personnel to Brooks hospital for treatment of his back and neck injuries. The driver of the SUV suffered a traumatic brain injury, upper body injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Chautauqua County fire rescue crews. His wife, 69 year-old, Georgianna E. Lines, was a passenger in the SUV and suffered life threatening injuries. Lines’ surviving spouse was airlifted by emergency medical helicopter crews to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo for treatment.
