The annual WonderCaresTM Fitness Challenge encourages physical activity among Canadian elementary school students

Over 1,700 schools and almost 400,000 students took part in the free eight-week program that helps elementary schools encourage physical activity among K-8 students.
Participating schools were encouraged to submit weekly totals of student physical activity minutes for a chance to earn weekly prizes, a mid-program prize of $4,000 worth of sporting equipment or a grand prize of $10,000 towards new playground equipment. The total time submitted for the 2011 WonderCaresTM Fitness Challenge was 479,486,166 minutes.
