New York – A video showing rapper Jay Z being attacked by the sister of his wife Beyoncé has gone viral. As reported by the Daily Mail, TMZ released the video Monday showing Solange Knowles lashing out on Jay Z in an elevator following the 2014 Met Gala.
The reason for what appeared to be an unprovoked attack remains unclear. Sound cannot be heard on the video footage, although Solange appears at moments during the incident to be screaming at Jay Z. A bodyguard can also be seen trying to restrain the singer.
No statement has been released by representatives of Jay Z, Beyoncé, or Solange regarding what took place. The Standard Hotel in New York City, where the incident occurred; however, has stated they are investigating the circumstances as well as the source of the leak of the video.
