Santa Ana, CA – Actress Julia Roberts and her husband Danny Moder are set to be honored by the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network for work on the film, “The Normal Heart.” As reported by People magazine, the husband and wife will receive the GLSEN Humanitarian Award as announced by the group on Tuesday.
Roberts and Moder will be recognized for contributions such as helping several charities such as UNICEF in addition to work done on-screen for the film.
GLSEN is quoted as saying of honoring the couple in a statement, “We are proud to recognize Danny Moder & Julia Roberts, whose inspiring work on HBO’s The Normal Heart has brought renewed attention to an important movement – and an on-going crisis – in LGBT and American history.”
