Delaware County pregnant 17 year-old and unborn child die in automobile accident.

Wilmington, DE(JusticeNewsFlash.com)–A 17-year-old expecting mother was tragically killed last week. Delaware County Daily Times reported 17-year-old, Nicolette Pomon, also known as “Nikki”, was scheduled to have the birth of her child by induction of labor, on Wednesday, at her doctor’s office. A fatal car accident didn’t allow Pomon and her unborn child, Lillian Grace, to make it to the doctor’s appointment. Pomon was riding in a PT Cruiser whom her friend, Meghan Obendorfer, 18, of Downingtown, was driving when the fatal motor vehicle collision (MVC) occurred. Delaware County police officers stated Obendorfer lost control of her car when she drove west on the 900 Block of Route 282.

Authorities claimed as Obendorfer rounded a corner, her car fish tailed and slammed into the front of a school bus. Witness accounts say the roads were wet at the time of the tragic car versus bus crash.  Pomon, a student at Chester County High School, was killed in this fatal automobile accident. The driver was taken to Reading Hospital, where she remained in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit. The school bus driver was taken to Brandywine Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

Authorities from East Brandywine Township Police, Downingtown Borough Police, West Brandywine Police, East Brandywine Fire Company, Chester County Coroner’s Office, Minquas Ambulance, Uwchlan Ambulance, and the Valley Creek Crisis Center continue to work together to solve this case. Officials are asking anyone who may have any information regarding this fatal car crash case to please contact 610-269-4300.
