FBI arrests New Jersey politicians!

U.S. Attorney’s office charges two New Jersey mayors and dozens of others with political corruption charges in mass FBI arrest sweep last Thursday. New Jersey criminal law attorneys for the government accuse multiple local and state leaders of federal and state political crimes in Newark court room.

New York, NY–Federal agents with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) http://www.fbi.gov arrested almost 30 people throughout four New Jersey counties on Thursday morning in a massive a raid involving a two-year corruption probe. As reported by the New York Times, the federal money laundering and political corruption probe which so far involves two current New Jersey mayors, a state assemblyman, a commissioner, several rabbis and dozens of others ranges from the Jersey Shore to Brooklyn plus the New Jersey State House in Trenton.

The United States Attorney’s office in Newark held a news conference at noon on Thursday to address the investigation which so far involves a religious Sephardic Jewish school, Deal Yeshiva, and other Jewish sects in Brooklyn, plus various towns in Ocean County along the Jersey Shore. Mayor Peter J. Camarano III, of Hoboken; Mayor Dennis Elwell of Secaucus; and Assemblyman Daniel M. Van Pelt of Forked River in Ocean County were all arrested and charged with violations of criminal laws at the federal and state level. The Commissioner of the state Department of Comunity Affairs who was also the former mayor of Bayonne, Joseph V. Doria Jr., was greeted by federal agents when they raided his home this morning. Many other political figures were brought to the Newark FBI field office for questioning.
