Legal news for Florida aviation accident attorneys. A plane crash killed three family members and a family friend.

Federal Aviation Administration alerts Florida aviation accident attorneys- A plane crashed in the Florida Everglades while coming home from a UF Gator football game.

West Palm Beach, FL—A twin-engine plane, carrying four people, crashed in the Florida Everglades while coming home from a University of Florida (UF) football game. The fatal plane crash happened on Sunday, September 20, 2009, around 6:00 p.m., near the Broward/Palm Beach County line northwest of Miami, as reported by The Palm Beach Post.

According to police officials, the Piper Turbo Saratoga plane, appropriately painted blue and orange due to the owner being a UF Gator football fanatic, crashed while en route home from the Florida vs. Tennessee game. Police officials recovered two adult males, an adult woman, and a male child near the wreckage in the Florida Everglades. Although police officials have not officially released the names of the victims, family friends stated Bruce Barber, 46, his wife Karen, their 14-year-old son, Payton; and a family friend, Phillip Marsh, all perished in the crash. The Barbers’ daughter, Chloe, 9, was at a relative’s house when the crash occurred. The Federal Aviation Administration (FFA) http://www.faa.gov/ stated around 6:00 p.m. Barber made a mayday call citing engine problems. A short time after, the six-seater Piper plane plummeted into a marsh near the Palm Beach County-Broward line. FAA officials, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) http:///www.ntsb.gov are all reportedly investigating the fatal plane crash.
