Legal news for Arizona aviation accident attorneys. A medical helicopter crashed during training.

Federal Aviation Administration alerts Arizona aviation accident attorneys- A medical helicopter crashed during a training flight.

Phoenix, AZ—A training flight on San Carlos Indian Reservation nearly turned deadly when a medical helicopter crashed. No patients were aboard the chopper when it fell from the sky on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 around 7:30 p.m. while trying to land at San Carlos’s Cutter airport, as reported by the Arizona Daily Star.

A Eurocopter AS 350 reportedly lost control during a training flight when it tried to land at the Cutter airport. Two people traveling in the chopper were seriously injured in the wreck. Thankfully, no patients were inside the helicopter when it plummeted to the ground below. The medical helicopter, which took off from Williams Gateway Airport, is apparently only equipped for training purposes, not for patient transport. The two injured victims were transported by area emergency medical services (EMS) teams to a local hospital for treatment by doctors and nurses. Their injuries were described as non-life threatening at this time. It is currently unknown what exactly caused the chopper to loose control and fall from the sky. Officials from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) http://www.faa.gov and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) http://www.ntsb.gov/ are investigating the wreck. Police officials have not released the victim’s identities.
