Dallas, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – A serious accident that occurred in the early morning hours on last week created such a delay that the east-bound lanes of Interstate 30 were shut down for several hours.
A diesel tanker carrying 7,500 gallons of diesel hit a bridge and exploded at approximately 5:00 a.m. on the morning of November 30th.
For hours, firefighters worked to extinguish the billowing fumes and flames at the scene of the accident, which authorities say was on I-30 near Big Town Boulevard.
The driver of the diesel tanker was conscious and immediately transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital. No other injuries were immediately reported.
A clean up crew worked for one hour trying to put the fire out before haz mat crews were called in to begin working at the scene.
