Legal News for product liability attorneys. Many products on the market do not disinfect or sterilize against the influenza A virus.

Environmental Protection Agency alerts Product Liability attorneys alerts- Unregistered products on the market do not disinfect against influenza A virus.

Washington, D.C.—Consumers across the nation are being warned by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) http:///www.epa.gov/ of ineffective and unregistered products and/or services on the market claiming to disinfect surfaces and entire rooms of the H1N1 influenza virus. As the pandemic H1NI virus swept the nation, careless vendors are using consumer’s fears of contracting the H1NI virus to sell their products, as reported by the EPA.

According to the EPA, who registers disinfectants for use on hard surfaces, states there are no products currently registered by the governmental agency that will disinfect, or sterilize the air or room by fogging in residential settings. Products that are registered by the EPA for use on hard surfaces and are used according to the label directions are effective in disinfecting and sterilizing against the influenza A viruses, which included the 2009 H1N1 virus. The EPA approved products are only to be used on hard surfaces, and the label must clearly state the product is registered to fight against the influenza A virus. Consumers are also being urged to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Preventions outline for preventing the spread of the H1NI influenza A virus.
