Arizona Governor Pulls State Out of Cap-and-Trade
February 12, 2010 /EIN PRESSWIRE/ An executive order signed by Gov. Jan Brewer has effectively ended the cap-and-trade program in Arizona.
Brewer sited financial concerns as the reason for backing out of the Western Climate Initiative’s cap-and-trade agreement to limit greenhouse gasses, saying cap-and-trade would cripple Arizona’s economy.
The head of the state’s environmental agency said Arizona’s focus will now shift to solar power, nuclear power and other renewables.
