EMI to Sell Abbey Road Studios
February 16, 2010 /EIN PRESSWIRE/ The Financial Times reports that EMI, in an effort to help dig itself out of massive debt, has put the landmark Abbey Road studios up for sale.
Some of the greatest albums of all-time were recorded at the studio, including most of The Beatles albums in the 1960s as well as Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon.
Although iconic, the studio has fallen victim, to some degree, to the rise in computer technology in the recording industry, which has closed the gap between smaller recording studios and the crown jewel of the industry.
