The actor entered a no contest plea on Wednesday.
Los Angeles (WiredPRNews.com) – Oscar winning actor Sean Penn entered a no contest plea for a vandalism charge connected to an incident in which he kicked a photographer. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Penn entered the plea through his attorney on Wednesday, and has been sentenced to informal probation and community service, as well as ordered to complete anger management counseling and remain a specified distance from the photographer involved in the incident, which took place in February.
Penn’s attorney, Richard Hirsch, is quoted by the AP as stating of the case, “Prolonging this matter in the court system would not have been in Mr. Penn’s best interests and would have distracted from his charitable commitments, specifically his work in Haiti… Accordingly he has decided to accept the terms and move on.”
