Oct. 28, 2010 /EIN Presswire/ – Promiseland, a multimillion dollar livestock operation, has lost its appeal for violation of the Organic Foods Product Act and will lose its organic certification 5 years.
In his decision rejecting the appeal, a U.S. Department of Agriculture examiner tacked on one more year to the 4 year suspension originally meted out by the department.
Promiseland was charged with failing to feed its cattle organic grain, selling fraudulent feed and selling conventional cattle as organic cattle.
The company is based in Nebraska and manages 22,000 head of cattle.
